THE MAINSTREAM CHILDREN’S PUBLISHING INDUSTRY’ SAYS RAINEY,
A LEADING CHILDREN’S RIGHTS ATTORNEY AND PIONEERING AUTHOR

DREAMDOG PRESS AND CLOVERNOOK CENTER FOR THE BLIND ANNOUNCE MULTI-MEDIA PACKAGE WITH PRINT BRAILLE PICTURE BOOKS AND MUSIC CD’S

For Immediate Release

Alexandria, VA, May 1, 2002 -DreamDog Press and Clovernook Center for the Blind have partnered to create a unique, uplifting and fun children’s picture book and music album package for children or parents with visual impairments. The picture books are available with Braille overlays and a companion Sing Along Songs CD/cassette that stimulates key audio and mental senses to expand the story’s message. (Media review copies are available from doug@dreamdog.com, and "I Believe in Me" Sing Along Songs can be listened to at www.dreamdog.com/mp3/.)

The DreamDog Press and Clovernook Center for the Blind multi-media products are significant in that it meets an important need. According to an analysis of the market, only 50 new children's books are scheduled to be produced in a print Braille fashion this year. The DreamDog/Clovernook products alone have companion music albums.

Says Jeff Brasie, president of Clovernook Center for the Blind, “There are more than 55,000 children who are blind in the United States, not to mention the number of children with parents who are blind or visually-impaired. Our goal is to help individuals with visual impairments to grow, learn and expand their abilities through stimulation of the mind through words and music.”

DreamDog Press debuts “Jerome’s Jam” by Rainey at Book Expo America May 2, 2002 in Booth 202 at the Javits Center in New York City. With Clovernook Center’s partnership, this new book will also be available with Braille overlays enabling a sighted person, parent or child, to read along with a child or parent who is blind. A “More Love” Sing Along Songs CD/cassette, enhances the inspiring messages of “Jerome’s Jam” through music. These resources guide parents and children to create more love with a new baby in the family.

Jerome’s heartwarming story of selfless acceptance of a new sibling and embracing his new brotherly mentoring responsibilities, makes “Jerome’s Jam” engaging and timely. With the help of Jazz the Dream Dog™, the magical doggie with a rainbow tail, Jerome figures out on his own that he can comfort his newborn sister, and help her grow and learn by sharing and teaching her things he already knows.

“Monsters in Your Bed…Monsters in Your Head” print Braille version and “I Believe in Me!” Sing Along Songs CD/cassette join “Jerome’s Jam”! In this DreamDog adventure Angie overcomes her night-time fear and finds new homes for all the homeless creatures hanging out in her room…with a little help from Jazz the DreamDog.

Says Rainey, a ground-breaking author who blends picture book storytelling with fun uplifting music, “As a community we need to reach out and ensure that children with disabilities have access to innovative resources that give them the tools to succeed. As an attorney for children with disabilities, I was shocked at the gap between products available for my clients and the market flooded with products for non-disabled children. I’m delighted to help fill this gap with Jazz the DreamDog’s empowering rhythm and rhyme in my books and music.”
