in Your Bed
Monsters in Your Head Author: Rainey Illustrated by: Betsy Dill Publisher: DreamDog Press What a truly wonderful book! Does you child have a fear? Maybe it's monsters under the bed, or in the closet? Making it difficult for them to go to bed at night? Or really, any fear they need help to learn to control? This is the book for them then! Wonderfully illustrated, and flowing with rhyme, this book can be of help. Rainey, the author, is empowering the children with the knowledge that they can have control over their fears. Angie is afraid to go to sleep. She sees monster of all sorts everywhere she looks; a two headed dragon, blue and purple monsters, and caterpillars of orange and red to name a few. Who could possibly sleep with all this dancing around in her room? She calls in Jazz, her dog, to see if Jazz can't help her with her fears. Jazz does a check of the room, and discovers that the monsters are all in Angie's head. Jazz, with his rainbow tail tells her how to send the monsters away, reigning in her fears. Angie is a little hesitant, but once she sees how easy it really is, she sends each monster to a new home, becoming all the more sure of herself as she goes. With all the monsters settled in their new homes, Angie settles down with Jazz for a good night's sleep! 25% of proceeds from
this book go to organizations that work with homeless children. The Parent Club Review by Darci Warner (www.theparentclub.com)
